Toronto

I've been on the road this week, travelling east. I went to Toronto to install an art piece commissioned by The Deloitte Greenhouse. Luckily it all went well, despite torrential rain from the remnants of Beryl – I got soaked (twice) – there were floods, power outages, submerged subways, an emergency building evacuation, and then the Crowdstrike outage. Crazy times indeed, did someone say pandemonium?

The installation looked great and thanks to great help from a long-time buddy of mine, the work went very smoothly. You can read more about the project here.

Montreal

I'm in Montreal for a few days to change the scene and explore the city a little. As the serendipity machine would have it another of my long-time buddies and I would be like ships in the night - leaving for Vancouver as I was coming to Montreal. Still, I get to house-sit, visit with the cat and explore Montreal. (Hey, D, all is well here ;-)

I went to an art opening at Art Mûr last night – Peinture Fraîche et Nouvelle Construction  – 20e édition. A curated exhibition of painting and sculpture by art students from across Canadian art schools. It is uplifting to see that painting is still such a happening thing. Fraîche indeed!

Also opening was Adam Gunn: I Learned to Drive and Went Painting. Lovely to see Plein Air work combined with a road trip - makes me think... a road trip with reluctant illustrations, maybe? – I guess this is a little pilot!

As always, thanks for reading and indulging!
