X is for Xiaolongbao from Changzhou

X – What an amazing letter - the baddest shape-shifter in the alphabet, the epitome of versatility, letter X stands ready to represent. It even looks like it does. The most chameleonic letterform of the entire Abecedarium, this flamboyant and elastic creature is ready to play any one of the other letters, or numbers, or even odd-looking Greek symbols, or mathematical symbols, or anything else – a place, a banana, a spot, a boat, a signature, a fruit salad, a kiss...

It could be you – X is the variable that's up for anything!

Xiaolongbao

Xiaolongbao refers to a type of small Chinese steamed bun (baozi) traditionally prepared in a xiaolong, a small bamboo steaming basket. Xiaolongbao are often referred to as a kind of "dumpling", but are distinct from Chinese jiaozi or wonton...

Xiaolongbao is made in a Xiaolong and is from Changzhou.
Xiaolongbao are traditionally eaten for breakfast. The buns are served hot in the bamboo baskets in which they were steamed, usually on a bed of dried leaves or paper mat, although some restaurants now use napa cabbage instead. The buns are usually dipped in Zhenjiang vinegar with chili crisp. Wikipedia

Let X = X

Magical, mysterious letter X is the embodiment of the unknown, the nexus, the marker – and the fungible. This plastic letter is brimming with je ne sais quoi – it is the X-factor after all. A somewhat shifty character, a little untrustworthy, and yet – oh, so sexy!

Here's an old favorite from Laurie Anderson... Track 8 from Big Science. Let X=X.
